P90X Day 26: Core Synergistics, Team Name, Shakeology Samples + Weight Set Ordered

After coming home from school I never feel like doing my workout, I come back and go right on my computer to check email/facebook/twitter and my blog stuff and then start getting lazy and never want to start my workout. I think its important to find a reason, no matter how stupid, to push yourself into getting your workout started for the day. My reason today was basically so I could eat my turkey burger for lunch. I love the turkey burger and coleslaw recipe that P90X gives you on the nutrition guide. It is delicious and my favorite meal of the week besides for shakeology. I always eat after I workout instead of before so it was crucial that I get my workout done so I could eat the turkey burger!

Today’s workout was a sweat-a-thon. It literally kicked my butt. I was sweating so bad in it that when it was over I took a cold shower that was as cold as I could possibly stand. Forget what I said about this workout in my previous posts, I was all wrong. I think the problem I had with it the last time I did it was that I was new to all the exercises so they all seemed odd to me and I wasn’t doing them correctly. Today I was more use to them and knew what to do so I felt better about it. They were difficult and really pushed me, especially the plank to chattaranga move, that move kills me. Its so difficult to get all the way down to the bottom of a pushup and just hold it! I can only do it for a couple of seconds but I love the way it makes your core feels, it really seems like its tightening your abs. Another move I can’t do well but I can really feel it in my abs is this one where your in pushup stance and you walk forward and back four times on your hands. By the end of this workout I was exhausted, but glad I gave it my all.

So I been trying to think of a good name for my beachbody/p90x team, and I’m struggling. I can’t figure out what I want that sounds cool and could fit to a wide variety of people. I was thinking something that sounds like motivational and powerful, but really can’t think of any good examples. I want something people can be proud to say yeah “I’m on team “teamname” and I love it”, and not have it sound cheesy. If anybody can give some suggestions by commenting here I’d appreciate it!

I also made a few purchases today to help me get into better shape and also you readers out there! The first thing I bought to get myself into better shape is a set of weights. But not any old set of weights, I bought Powerblocks U-90 Set 1. The website states they are “The Urethane U90 Set replaces 16 pairs of dumbbells or 825 lbs of free-weights. The weight range for the U90 Set is 5lbs – 50lbs per hand. Increments achieved are: 2.5 lbs, 5 lbs, 7.5 lbs, 10 lbs, 15 lbs, 17.5 lbs, 20 lbs, 25 lbs, 27.5 lbs, 30 lbs, 35 lbs, 37.5 lbs, 40 lbs, 45 lbs, 47.5 lbs and 50 lbs per hand. The Urethane U90 Set can be expanded to 90 lbs per hand with the optional U90 Stage II Kit, and again to 125 lbs per hand with the U90 Stage III Kit. ” At $438 (shipping included) they seem really expensive, but in reality for what you are getting they aren’t. I did some pricing of all the weights you would have to buy individually to equal what you get with this unit and it came to $650. Obviously buying the Powerblocks are a smarter investment, plus it saves me a lot of space which is great when you live in an apartment or have a small workout area.
